Dr. Amy McCarthy, MD, an internist with over 35 years of experience, has received a mixed overall sentiment from her patients, reflected in her average rating of 3.8 out of 5 based on 18 reviews. While many patients appreciate her friendly demeanor and willingness to listen, some express concerns about the limited time she has for each appointment. Common themes of praise include Dr. McCarthy's attentive bedside manner, her ability to explain medical conditions clearly, and the friendliness of her staff. Patients have noted that she is responsive to email requests for medication refills, which helps avoid unnecessary office visits. However, criticisms often center around the perceived brevity of appointments, leading some to feel rushed during consultations. Despite these concerns, many patients still recommend her as a general practitioner, highlighting her genuine care for their health. Notably, patients frequently mention her effectiveness in communication and the supportive office environment, which contributes positively to their overall experience. However, prospective patients may want to consider the potential for shorter appointment times when deciding whether to see Dr. McCarthy.
