Dr. Gary Matthys, an orthopedic surgeon in Fargo, ND, has received a mixed overall sentiment from patients, with an average rating of 4.3 out of 5 based on 51 reviews. Many patients express satisfaction with their surgical outcomes, particularly regarding hip and knee replacements, highlighting his expertise and the effectiveness of his procedures. Positive feedback often emphasizes his thorough explanations, professionalism, and the friendly demeanor of his staff, contributing to a supportive environment for patients. However, there are notable criticisms as well. Some patients report negative experiences, including claims of inadequate post-operative care and perceived rudeness from Dr. Matthys. Specific complaints include complications following surgery that were not addressed appropriately, leading to significant long-term issues for some individuals. These contrasting experiences suggest that while many patients appreciate his surgical skills and the outcomes of their procedures, others have faced challenges in communication and post-operative care. Prospective patients may want to weigh these factors carefully when considering Dr. Matthys for orthopedic surgery.
