Dr. Grant Niskanen, MD, a family medicine physician in Klamath Falls, OR, has received mixed reviews from patients, reflected in a 3-star rating based on two reviews. While some patients acknowledge his extensive experience of over 30 years and commend the cleanliness of the hospital and the availability of telehealth appointments, the reviews are overshadowed by significant criticism regarding his diagnostic capabilities. Common themes in praise include his good patient care and the clean environment of SKY Lakes Medical Center. However, a notable criticism comes from a patient who reported a serious misdiagnosis, claiming Dr. Niskanen incorrectly diagnosed them with Factitious Disorder instead of recognizing their Crohn's disease. This incident has led to strong negative sentiments, with the patient expressing a desire to warn others against seeking care from him. The review highlights concerns about the appropriateness of his diagnoses, especially given that he is not a psychiatrist, which raises questions about his expertise in handling complex medical conditions. Overall, potential patients should weigh the positive aspects of Dr. Niskanen's practice against the serious concerns raised in the reviews, particularly regarding diagnostic accuracy and the potential for misdiagnosis in complex cases.
