Overall, patient sentiment regarding Dr. Matthew Nelson, MD, is mixed. While he has received a solid rating of 4.0 out of 5 based on 132 ratings, individual reviews highlight both positive experiences and significant concerns. Many patients appreciate his willingness to take time to answer questions and provide follow-up care, indicating a commendable bedside manner. Specifically, he is noted for effectively alleviating pain through treatments such as injections, which some patients found beneficial. However, there are notable criticisms regarding Dr. Nelson's surgical competence and office wait times. Several patients reported long wait times both in the lobby and exam rooms, which detracted from their overall experience. More concerning are the accounts of surgical complications; one patient recounted a family member experiencing poor outcomes following a procedure performed by Dr. Nelson, leading to the need for corrective surgery by another physician. This has raised doubts about his surgical skills among some reviewers. Overall, prospective patients should weigh the positive aspects of his patient interaction against the serious concerns regarding surgical performance and office efficiency.
