Overall, patient sentiment regarding Dr. Michael Smith, MD, is mixed. While some patients express satisfaction with his expertise and the thoroughness of his examinations, a significant portion of reviews indicate dissatisfaction, particularly reflected in the low likelihood of recommending him to others. The average rating is notably low, with 67% of reviews being one-star ratings. Common themes in praise include Dr. Smith's extensive experience in internal medicine, with over 55 years in the field, and his ability to address a variety of conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, and anxiety disorders. Patients appreciate his thorough examinations and the clarity of his instructions. However, criticisms often focus on long wait times, perceived lack of attentiveness during consultations, and inadequate follow-up care. Some patients also report feeling rushed during appointments, which detracts from their overall experience. Notably, the reviews highlight a stark divide in patient experiences, with a significant number expressing frustration over their interactions, which may be a crucial consideration for potential patients. Those looking for a doctor with extensive experience may find Dr. Smith appealing, but those prioritizing a more personalized and attentive approach may want to consider other options.
