Dr. Thomas Kay, MD, has received a mixed overall sentiment from patients, with a notable range in ratings. While some reviews highlight positive experiences, particularly regarding his surgical skills, others express significant dissatisfaction with his bedside manner and office management. His average rating stands at 2.6 out of 5 based on 5 reviews, indicating a divide in patient experiences. Common themes of praise include Dr. Kay's surgical expertise, with several patients reporting successful outcomes from multiple surgeries. Positive comments also mention his thoroughness and ability to explain conditions clearly. However, criticisms are prevalent, particularly regarding long wait times, with some patients reporting waits of over two hours. Additionally, there are serious concerns about his attentiveness during consultations, with some feeling that he did not adequately address their pain or treatment options. A particularly alarming review mentioned a potential HIPAA violation, which raises concerns about patient confidentiality and office practices. Overall, potential patients should weigh the positive surgical outcomes against the reported issues with wait times and communication. Those seeking surgical intervention may find value in Dr. Kay's expertise, but it may be prudent for patients to consider their preferences for doctor-patient interaction and office efficiency before making an appointment.
