Dr. Thomas Beck, DO, an orthopedic surgeon in Berlin, Maryland, has received mixed patient reviews, with an overall rating of 3.3 out of 5 based on three reviews. While some patients praise his professionalism, friendly demeanor, and successful outcomes from surgeries such as hip and knee replacements, others express significant dissatisfaction with his communication and follow-up care. Common themes in praise include Dr. Beck's expertise and bedside manner, with one patient noting a smooth recovery from both hip and knee surgeries, stating they were "thrilled" with the results. However, criticisms focus on perceived deficiencies in care, particularly regarding post-operative complications and inadequate follow-up. One reviewer specifically mentioned that Dr. Beck failed to properly assess issues after a hip replacement, leading to prolonged pain and instability. Another patient reported a negative experience with knee surgery, highlighting a lack of timely intervention for a non-healing incision. Overall, potential patients should weigh the positive surgical outcomes reported by some against the concerns raised about communication and post-operative care. It may be beneficial for prospective patients to seek detailed discussions about their specific conditions and expectations before proceeding with treatment.
